There is always at least one person on your list that is always hard to shop for! Do you have them in your mind yet? Usually they are someone you care about; but may not have as close of a relationship with as you would prefer. Or maybe you are close; but they really don't need or want anything specific. The best solution is to get them a unique gift, not something that you can get from a mass market store. Re-purpose items are great for those hard to shop for people! They are unique, creative, eco-friendly and most often everyone can enjoy them! One re-purpose store where you can find all kinds of great gift ideas is Bottles & Wood.
Bottles & Wood Re-purpose creations
Bottles & Wood is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. They recycle empty glass bottles from bars, restaurants and casinos in Las Vegas, and re-purpose them into usable glassware, serving ware, lighting fixtures, and jewelry. Their products are Eco-friendly and their company is creating jobs in one of the lowest unemployed cities in America!
I love the idea of the re-purposed bottles! Just think how much waste that saves and instead turns average glass bottles into something you can reuse each and every day! It's brilliant!
Try a unique light fixture! Made from a recycled Bombay Gin bottle! Looks pretty cool right?
Or even these awesome Vodka bottles recycled into fun bangle bracelets!
Now don't get me wrong. I'm not advocating drinking alcohol or anything of that nature. This is a clean, family friendly environment I focus on here at JadeLouise Designs. What I love and appreciate is how they can turn waste (discarded glass bottles) into such creative art and useful purposes!
My favorite is the Coke bottles that are turned into juice glasses! Those fit with my style perfectly and something I can use in my home with my family! And I do, almost every single day these glasses get used! I'm not the only one that likes to use them! So do the kids!
Safety and Quality in Re-purpose glass gifts.
Now when I first heard that Bottles & Wood could take glass bottles and cut them down into juice glasses; I was a bit skeptical. I thought, "well how do you make it safe?" I was thinking about sharp edges and such. But they have a process that reshapes the top of the bottles ensuring they are smooth, round and not sharp at all.
So all you are left with is a new creation made from old materials! Best of all; the entire process doesn't jeopardize the quality of the bottle either. It is still the same thick glass that it was when it was a coke bottle! They can stand up to quite a bit of accidents in the house without breaking. Mind you, I'm not saying you should put that to the test and see just how much it takes to break them. Merely, they have put up with a lot of accidental drops and don't even have a chip in them. Next to my hot chocolate mugs; these are the most durable glasses I have in my house.
Not to mention they look great! These coke juice bottles measure at 4.75" and have a capacity of 8 oz. It's the perfect size for juice in the morning, or since it's the holidays–Eggnog! They really help me keep with my portion control with juice and other drinks; but really I just love the look, style and feel of the glasses more than anything.
