Robby Wash Ball: Save Money and Space With a Green Year Supply Of Detergent in One Small Ball! Review and Giveaway!

Other than the continual washing, folding and putting away; the part of doing laundry that I dislike the most is the constant buying of laundry Detergent and how expensive it can get! I also dislike how much space all the detergent bottles or boxes take up in my tiny laundry corner! But what if you could spend a small amount of money on a small device that would wash your clothes for an entire year? And it would take up a tiny fraction of space as what your current detergents use?

I'm quite excited to tell you about this amazing and functional Family friendly product called the Robby Wash Ball! The Robby Wash ball  is a product of Oransi.com. Oransi is a green product company that focuses on improving our health, saving money and producing products that are safe for the environment all in one!

The Robby Wash ball was recently launched in the U.S. as an ultra high efficiency hypoallergenic laundry detergent ball. Everything you need to do 120 washes of laundry is contained in the small box, and the actual Robby Wash ball is the approximate size of an orange.

The Robby Wash ball is meant to be used with both hot and cold water cycles. To use, you merely place the ball in the wash. That's it! Simple right? There is no need for additional detergents. a few key benefits of using the Robby Wash ball are:
  • 10 ounces of Robby Wash ball replaces 75 lbs. of traditional laundry detergent - environmentally friendly.
  • One Robby Wash ball lasts up to 12 months. The ball itself will last 3 years.
  • One Robby Wash ball will save more than $100+ over 120 washes (approx cost of $0.25 a load)
  • One Robby Wash ball is only $32.95 and lasts one year. This includes refills and free stain stick.
  • Easy and affordable refill kit for the 2nd and 3rd year
  • It is eco-friendly, hypoallergenic and safe - commonly used in Europe with baby laundry (as well as adults' laundry).
  • Third party tested, proven and guaranteed to clean better than traditional powder laundry detergent.
  • Robby Wash ball can be used with front and top load washing machines.
  • Designed and developed in Europe with their strict standards of safety product requirements of no hazardous chemicals.
You can learn more about the benefits of using the Robby Wash from the video below.

When our Robby Wash arrived, it couldn't have come at a better time, as we had just ran out of laundry detergent and it was laundry day the next morning! When I opened the box I was greeted with a very familiar look with the German and European symbols. I felt like I had been magically transported back to Germany! I loved our time living in Germany and I grew to love and trust the quality of  European products, and something as simple as seeing the actual Worldwide packaging on the Robby Wash made me feel more at home and quite excited to give it a try! The Instructions and box are written in English, French, German and Dutch.

The Robby Wash Ball came with everything in the photo; the Robby Ball, 3 refill packets, instructions and a free stain stick. I wish I could report how well the stick works, but as luck would have it, now that I have the stain stick in the house, none of the kids have made a mess requiring it's use.

The Robby Wash Ball really is about the size of an orange, that is a sturdy plastic weaved ball with a blue foam type lining around the center of the ball to protect it as it will bounce around in the wash. Inside the ball are the little round detergent balls. As long as the ball is full of these little detergent balls, it will continue to clean.

It was quite easy to do laundry with the Robby Wash ball, as all you have to add is the ball itself to the laundry and go. It's so easy I was even able to have my 8 year old son do his own laundry! There is no need for measuring and no mess!  You also don't need to add any additional detergent. Adding fabric softener is optional.

The Robby Wash cleaned our laundry well, there were no stains on the clothes and no dirt left after the wash. The clothes came out of the wash smelling fresh and the Robby Wash ball itself is sturdy and still looks brand new after 3 loads of towels, 2 batches of little boy's laundry, 1 batch of baby girl cloths, and 2 batches of adult laundry. After washing clothes, you simply let the Robby Wash ball air dry on the shelf and out of children's reach.

I not only love how well the Robby Wash cleans, but also how easy it is to use, and that it uses only hypoallergenic detergent that is safe to use even on baby laundry and sensitive skin. My husband has sensitive skin so we have to be careful what detergents we use, and so far after wearing clothes washed with the Robby Wash ball for a full week, he's had zero reactions.

Many of you know we are also a Cloth diapering family. So I was quite excited about the Robby Wash ball because it doesn't use the typical detergent. It uses Macromolecules which cleans the clothes and because of this it is a great alternative to the harsh chemical detergents that ruin diapers, or the expensive cloth diaper detergents. Plus, it rinses completely away, and you don't have to worry about left over detergent in the cloth to cause skin irritation to the baby, or increase the odor of the diapers.

I washed Jade's cloth diapers with the Robby Wash, and the diapers came out very clean and soft with no stains. They were white and beautiful. The only problem is that the Robby Wash ball did not remove all the odor from the diapers. During the summer, I usually line dry my diapers in the sun, which would cause this drawback to be moot, as the sun eliminates any left over odor in the cloth diapers anyway, but since it is winter and my diapers are dried in the house, having odor left over after washing the diapers was a little disheartening, especially since it cleaned them so well in all other areas. But I'm curious  that if I were to wash the diapers with the Robby Wash frequently if it would continue to remove any excess detergent and if the odor would eventually disappear from the diapers after washing with the Robby wash ball. It is something I will be giving a try, because the Wash ball is just too good to give up on.

Overall, I quite enjoy the Robby Wash ball. It is easy to use, it is safe for our homes, families, environment, and our pocket book! It saves money while getting the job done in an effective manner and all without harsh and dangerous chemicals! Plus, it is so small, is saves a lot of storage space in my tiny Laundry room corner!

Cons: The only things I saw as a drawback with the Robby Wash was that it didn't remove all the odor from my daughter's Cloth diapers on the first washing. Also, the instructions never mentioned or showed how one is suppose to open the ball when it comes time for a refill. I would like to see this added in the future, with instructions on how to refill the ball with a handy diagram photo in the instruction booklet.

  15. I have been on the search for an amazing detergent!! I would love it if this actually works, but am a little nervous about the smell thing, even though I don't have diapers to wash, I work with a lot of food.

Also really want to try the other balls, and products that are available. I love the natural idea, and chemical free.
